The 21 Day Batch System fits 7 rotating batches into the Breeding Herd Production Cycle based on approximate farrowing Index of 147 days. From the point in the calendar that a herd begins the 21 day batch routine the system produces 7 service groups in the first full production cycle. It can be a useful reference to continue to circulate these original group numbers so that you can observe the changing makeup of the group in relation to returns and replacements.

This screen follows on from the farrowing group screen calculating the corresponding weaning period. The 21 Day Batch System can be analysed by treating the weaned groups as Production Groups and numbering them in sequence in order to report them in relation to the original service group. If a strategy of de-pop/re-stock is herd policy then this also charts the progress of the age of the herd through to for example: group 42 at 6th parity.

BATCH
This indicates the number of complete production batch cycles as opposed to production groups within the cycle. As mentioned above on a unit with a management strategy to de-populate at parity 6 and re-stock this figure could aid future planning.
